This clip from this morning is a bit long because I am too lazy to edit it, but it is hilarious! I think they have a future in music :)
No pictures - sorry. We did make it up to Boulder this past weekend and had a great time. I forgot my camera - of course. Other than that, I have spent a good amount of time obsessing about this election. I know that some of you reading this are MCain supporters, and I love you all, but I just don't understand you!!! I have come to the conclusion that I need to take a step back, turn off the t.v., and the CNN web news and focus on something else for awhile. I am TOO emotionally involved, and I am afraid that if November 5th comes and to quote Tina Fey, Sarah Palin is a "heartbeat" http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/palin-hillary-open/656281/away from being President, I may just not get out of bed........ever... again. Really. Watch the clip - it is hilarious, and worth getting through the Crest commercial for.
In other news, Grace has made a great new friend from Georgia who just moved in down the street. They are in the same homeroom. Her parents are MCain supporters, but I will get over it :). Gavin is getting "humongous" (his word, not mine). Every time he eats, he stands on his chair and stretches his arms into the air and tells anyone who will listen about how big he is getting.
That is the latest. I'll post some pictures soon (as soon as I take some). I am now going to get off of the computer (without looking at the news), and do something non-election related. Wish me luck.
As most of you know, I was so excited for the DNC to be in Denver, and commited as soon as I heard that it was going to be here, that I was going to get in somehow. Well, I didn't realize at the time, that the convention is closed to all people except press and delegates. Since changing careers was not desirable, I decided that I would shoot for the delegate thing. I went to the Broomfield caucus back in February, and was going to volunteer to be a delegate for our precinct, but found out that I would have to attend many more events and I would only have a remote chance of making it to the DNC. Since Michael works so many hours, I decided against hiring a babysitter and taking time off of work in order to TRY and be a delegate. I would have to settle for hanging out downtown during the convention, and watching on t.v. . Well, Barack Obama had a brilliant idea to move the last day of the DNC outdoors and invite 30,000 Colorado residents to attend - yippee!!! Anyway, to make a long story short, I put in a lot of volunteer time with the Obama campaign (as did my mother), and we scored a couple of tickets!! Here are a few pictures from our adventure.
We got a great parking space from the friend of a friend's in-laws, and only had to take a 10 minute walk to the light-rail that dropped us off near Invesco Field.
Here is the really long line that we waited in to get into Invesco.
Here is a pic of me and my mom in our seats. We were on the second row in the stands, which sounds great, but our view of the stage was obstructed by a huge curtain and speakers. We could easily see the Jumbotron, and had a great view of political well-knowns and movie stars coming in and out onto the field.
The view from our seats.
The top of Will.i.am's head. He looked right at me after I yelled, "I love you Will.i.am", but I still managed to miss the shot.
No, John Kerry is not running in this photo - I don't know how Michael takes such good pictures.
If anyone wants copies of these fantastic photos, just let me know :). I also have the back or top of heads of the following people: Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Michael McDonald, and Bill Ritter (Govenor of Colorado).
Gavin turned 3 years old today. I can't believe it! He is growing up so fast. As he says, "mommy, I a big boy". He always likes to tell me the things he can do when he gets big, like opening locked doors, reaching the tall water fountain, and climing to the top of big ladders. Yesterday we were having one of these conversations, and I told him about how when he was little, he was in my belly. He then proceeded to tell me that it was warm in mommy's belly, and there were not any monsters in there. He also said that when he "grows smaller", he will "climb back in there".
Summer Utah Trip, July 2008
We rented a mini-van and went to St. George for 3 days. Here is Gavin, all hooked-up and ready to go!
Angie, Melanie and Grace in the Woodcock's pool.
Grace and Kaycee spend so much time in the pool, that the skin on their toes was gone.
Mel and Gavin playing in the pool. Gavin pretty much attached himself to Melanie whenever she was around.
